Hierdoor gaat de veenvorming nog steeds door en kun je spreken over levend hoogveen.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5><h5><strong>Uniek is dat het veen nooit is afgegraven. Hierdoor is de hoogveenflora nog altijd in tact.<\/strong><\/h5><h5><strong>Langs de vennen groeit bijvoorbeeld veenmos, \u00a0witte snavelbies,\u00a0zonnedauw\u00a0, wolfsklauw, lavendelheide, veenbes en dopheide. In de poelen groeien planten als drijvend fonteinkruid\u00a0en\u00a0waterdrieblad.<\/strong><\/h5><h5><strong>Op drogere delen groeit struikheide en stekelbrem.<\/strong><\/h5><h5><strong>De afwisseling tussen nat en droog vind je ook terug in de bomen en struiken. Zo kom je heesters van de natte gronden als wilg, els en berk tegen, maar ook planten van de drogere gronden als den en eik.<\/strong><\/h5><h5><strong>Het is een biotoop met veel amfibie\u00ebn,
